West Dorset features in several literary masterpieces. Many of Thomas Hardy's novels are set in the area, and Lyme Regis is the location for John Fowles' The French Lieutenant's Woman.
One of Fowles' other works, The Collector, was also made into a film and this is being shown as part of the Bridport Prize Live literary festival .
